Principal Architect | Founder
José F. Cardona Roig
Licensed Architect
With more than three decades of professional experience, the practice is guided by a commitment to thoughtful design, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of the relationship between people and the built environment. After earning both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the School of Architecture at the University of Puerto Rico, he obtained his architectural license in 1991 and spent thirteen years developing his professional expertise as partner at AIR Architects before establishing JF Cardona Roig Architects in 2004.
The firm was founded on the belief that architecture should respond to place, purpose, and community while creating enduring and meaningful spaces. In 2008, this vision expanded through the creation of Abacus CMC, a company dedicated to facility management, property management, information systems, and operational services. Through both organizations, he continues to lead projects that combine design excellence, strategic thinking, and a commitment to improving the environments in which people live, work, learn, and gather.
